Thanks to the cooperation between Zimmer Biomet, Zfx Dental and VITA Zahnfabrik, dental technicians are able to produce abutment crowns that fulfill the latest requirements of modern implant prosthetics. Full anatomic abutments for single tooth implants that are customized on the individual patient can thus be produced. The company, Zfx Dental, well-known for intelligent digital solutions, offers a comprehensive product range for individual implant prosthetics. Ever since, open interfaces are propagated and an unlimited flexibility is guaranteed. The Zfx Implantat Library includes among others the Zimmer Biomet implants with Titanium bases, which are compatible with the Zimmer Biomet Implant interfaces.  Alternatively, individual abutments can be produced in the usual way.

Original joint geometries guarantee a high accuracy. The  Zfx Scanbodies are  equipped with a code system, that detects the implant type automatically and avoids transmission errors such as loss of accuracy.  In the software, the user selects the implant and designs the implant crown.

Also in regard with the choice of material for the mesostructure, the dental technician has choices, especially as the innovative hybrid ceramic is expanding the Zfx product range. VITA ENAMIC (VITA Zahnfabrik) is a dental hybrid ceramic with dual network structure.  The dominant, sintered ceramic network is enforced by a polymer network, whereby both networks penetrate each other entirely. The hybrid ceramic is characterized by high strength. The modulus of elasticity is 30 GigaPascal (GPa) and is thus at the level of a human dentin. ZTM Claus Pukropp (Manager Technical Marketing, VITA Zahnfabrik) explains: “Due to the modulus of elasticity and the elastic property of the polymer network, an impact absorption of over 70% is reached in comparison with zirconium oxide. These shock-absorbing properties can be considered as very beneficial for implant prosthetic restorations because high impulse pressure of the components and the ankylotic and bone anchored implant may cause mechanical problems. Moreover, in comparison with usual particle-filled composites, VITA ENAMIC reveals an abrasive behavior and color stability similar full ceramic. The combination of all properties makes the material unique and thus interesting for implant super structures“.

Conclusion
Together with the VITA Zahnfabrik the grinding strategies of the Zfx milling machines have been customized to assure the best results regarding accuracy and edge stability. Through the assistance by quality tests, such as fitting and mechanical tests, the whole process has been validated.  The symbiosis of a Zfx abutment and the VITA ENAMIC hybrid ceramic enables the user to produce with comparatively little effort, a high-quality crown to be screwed on the implant (for example: Zimmer Biomet).  Thus, perfectly matched on each other, an implant prosthetic overall concept is provided.
